Countdown to The Big Quircer Wedding.....

The Bride & Groom

The Bride

The Bride

Born in Leamington Spa, but raised on the mean streets of Stratford-upon-Avon, I had early aspirations of becoming a model and was selected for a photo shoot at just 3 years old. My big break wasn't quite a big break though, as they only wanted photos of my hands! My next career move was at the ripe old age of 4; attempting to audition for Wendy in Peter Pan by flying out of my bedroom window (fortunately Grandad John came to the rescue!). I've finally found my calling in life as a proud Co-Director of my own recruitment business and my life now revolves around my girls, Si and my family. I can't sit still for long and always need to be keeping my mind moving and striving to be the best role model I can be. I love travelling and taking in new experiences and I'm really excited to FINALLY share our special day with you all.

Laura
The Groom

The Groom

Dashing, Charming, Romantic.....not often words associated with me, but God loves a trier! Born in 1981 in the historic town of Lichfield, Staffordshire (not Burmingum as commonly thought). As a young nipper I had a promising gynmastics career, but quit due to having to wear a leotard, much to Mum's disappointment! Along with the full time job of supporting Laura's luxurious lifestyle and keeping two maniac children alive, I've been lucky enough to dive with great white sharks, bunjee jump off Victoria Falls, earn my motorbike and sailing licences and travel to some amazing places, with friends and family. On a daily basis I also combine the above with single-handedly saving the NHS as a chartered surveyor. I honestly cannot wait to share our special day with you all, drink lots (in moderation of course!) and P.A.R.T.Y!

Our love story

First we met...

Nov 28, 2008

Our love story started a little before this photo, but Laura just didn't know it yet! Simon had spotted Laura across a crowded bar in Stratford (Bar M), but after enquiring with a friend about who 'that stunner' was, it transpired she had a boyfriend, so the champagne had to be put on ice.....Never one to give up easily, Simon waited patiently for his window of opportunity.....Laura's 'soul-searching' trip to Australia provided that opportunity, as after a chance encounter in Stratford on her return, Simon let slip that he had been stalking all her Facebook posts whilst away. I'm sure Laura felt slightly flattered (at the same time as being slightly freaked out) by this proclamation. After a little convincing the first date was agreed - a trip to the aptly named Cock Inn, at Wishaw. Simon rather embarrasingly borrowed Dad's lamborghini, to make up for other unmentionable inadequacies and in a poor attempt at flattery....This photo was taken on our second date in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield.

We got Engaged!

May 21, 2014

After an initial 'are they on or off period' things finally settled down, as did their drinking habits! They moved into their first house together (Sackville Cottage) in Old Town Stratford upon Avon and made the ultimate commitment of a dog (Milly & then Darcy - who didn't get on very well, but that's a whole other story!). As time went by, it was evident that they couldn't easily live with each other, but they definitely couldn't live without each other. This prompted Simon's one and only romantic gesture of the relationship. Simon whisked Laura off on a trip around Northern Italy, culminating in a gushing proposal in a posh hotel overlooking Juliet's balcony in Verona (which Laura was totally expecting!). This is the photo from that very moment.

Then two became 3...

Feb 3, 2017

With biological clocks ticking and the realisation that we could keep small animals alive, it was time to consider adding a small person to the family. Nobody prepared us for how difficult the journey would be from the start, but also how rewarding and inspirational it would be. Beautiful Bella-Rose was born 10 weeks early. We were rushed to Northampton Hospital, where we stayed for several weeks in a dodgy cheap hotel, whilst our baby was fighting for her life. We experienced every emotion possible and tiredness like never before, but we got through it as a little family. The most beautiful kind, caring soul, that continues to amaze us every day. Bella-Rose brought us together like we could never have imagined and helped us realise the value of family, friends and the important things in life.

Then 3 became 4

Apr 17, 2019

The choice was between a lavish Italian wedding, or another mini person. Unfortunately for you all, we opted for the latter. A much simpler journey (although Laura might disagree), couldn't have prepared us for our beautiful Primrose. Now 3 going-on 13 and constantly looking for mischief (including smashing Grandad and Nanny's 50" flat screen TV), Primrose is the final piece of our family jigsaw who creates a constant positive energy. Such a character that makes us laugh (and cry) daily! We love you Primrose, you complete our family!

About the Big Day

The Venue

Finding a wedding venue amongst the hundreds of options isn't easy, but finding a 'unicorn' venue that ticks all boxes is quite some challenge. Fortunately for us (and our guests) we found it!

Birtsmorton Court is a beautiful Manor House, set in 350 acres of lakes, fields and woodland, at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

With Simon's love of the water and Laura's love of gardens and all things flowery, the venue delivered on our entire wish list (and then some!).

It's also a great place to socialise and party (crucial for a successful wedding!). We don't want to give too much away, but we instantly fell in love with Birtsmorton and we're sure you will too!

The Food

You'll probably notice the continental Italian theme running throughout the day....Why Italy, we hear you ask? For one we love the country (so much that the wedding was almost there!). Our first trip away as a couple was to Sicilly and we've visited various parts of Italy several times since - we even got engaged there! We love the culture, the way of life and most importantly the FOOD!

We've hand-crafted the bespoke menu with our amazing caterers to include all the elements we love and hope you will too. There will be continental canapes served after the wedding (2:00pm ish) as a taster of what's to come in the main event - the wedding breakfast. 3 courses of Italian inspired delicacies (from 4:00pm).

All the wine, cocktails and beer have been specially selected by us after (extensive!) tasting and all from Italy (except the epic Argentinian red!)

There will be Pizza, Pizza, Pizza in the evening for everyone, to soak up the alcohol and refill the tank for the party to come! The drinks are on us all day, until the end of the speeches, then there will be a CARD ONLY bar for the evening.

'Buon Appetito!'

The Party

We LOVE a good party and what better excuse than a wedding to throw some shapes, get the limbo out and let your hair down. If you're a Dad dancer or you've forgotten how to 'big fish, litle fish, cardboard box' don't worry, we won't judge!

It'll be chilled out vibes during the afternoon, working it's way up to a full-on party to remember. We've hired a DJ who will keep those tunes coming until 1-1:30am. There are plenty of areas to chill and relax and a fully stocked bar with shots, shots shots if that's your thing.

Get your babysitters booked well in advance as we want you to relax, enjoy the whole day and party without a care in the world - like we're 18 again!

Throw us some requests and we'll do our best to include them throughout the day (apart from Steps!)

Accommodation

Situated in a picturesque village, you won't find a Travelodge next door we're afraid...but what you will find are loads of accommodation options within a stones throw.

There are some quaint little B&B's within stumbling distance, but also nearby Tewkesbury (around 8 miles away) has a whole host of hotel options to suit every budget, including a Hilton Spa Hotel and a Premier Inn.

Birtsmorton Court have kindly prepared a really comprehensive list of all options (thankfully saving us the job!), which can be found on the below link.

Accommodation Options

The Malverns are a designated area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) and a stunning place to spend some quality time. If it's walking, exploring the quintessential English Countryside, or drinking you're in to, why not make the most of the whole weekend...?

Gifts

The most important gift to us is that you, our closest family and friends, are with us to share our special day.

If you are still wishing to kindly offer a gift (despite our insistence!), then a contribution towards our honeymoon to the Amalfi Coast in (you guessed it) Italy would be warmly and gratefully received.......but please, please, please do not feel obliged.

RSVP!

Please let us know whether you can make our big day. We would love you to join us!

Please be sure to RSVP for each guest by 1st April 2022 so we know that there is enough alcohol for you!

Fancy leaving us a little message? Feel free to submit it with your RSVP.
